I am now officially Juror #10 on a civil, personal injury case that's scheduled to go until next Tuesday. And I've been instructed not top speak about it. So you'll have to wait until next week to hear about how guilty the S.O.B. is!

This is so weird, I really started blogging while I was at the OC Superior Court House. I never got called. I never even left the holding room. Have fun returning a verdict.

I'd love to sit on a jury someday. I was called once in Orange County... it was an ugly rape case where there were two different women that made allegations against this man. The defense asked everyone "do you think a person can lie for no reason?" Everyone said yes. When it got to me I said "Well, I think there are always reasons for our behavior." She thanked and excused me. And I was bummed because I actually WANTED to be juror #10! Do tell when the case is over.... I've always wanted to be a lawyer.

I was dismissed once from a case about marijuana. The DA asked if I had any strong opinions regarding the illegality of pot. I simply said that I didn't quite understand why even the POSSESSION of something which is usually privately "consumed" is criminal whereas alcohol which kills innocent people and destroys thousands of families each year is regulated and sustained by the federal government.

    Worked like a charm.
